Please don't ever tell anyone but, I happen to
know that even though Stan had on a country style tux, he had
his tennis shoes on to finish his "ensemble" because
Darrel told him that his feet wouldn't show. In this one they
didn't, but in another photo they did, and it even got into the
school handbook! He was voted into the top ten "Worst Dressed"
Just kidding honey! By the way, he played the bass guitar and
was the brunt of many of our jokes, but he dished out just as
many! And I loved working with him! After all, he really is the
very best husband in the whole world even if he is the worst dressed!

Darrel
discovered Nancy, of all places, working in the college print
shop. She was learning to play the guitar, and he found out she
could sing too. She has a great alto voice and she was a natural
at harmony, so we just evolved into "Diamonds in the Rough"
and we grew to love her as a person too. We have many fond memories
as we worked together at the college. Our lives became forever
intertwined. Nancy still sings specials at her church and plays
her guitar.

Darrel
is a famous musician in his own right. Aside from having been
the director of the Hank Thompson Country School of Music, he's
played with many of the well known people in the country music
industry. He was the leader of Diamonds in the Rough, and also
the coordinator of many of the other groups at the school. He's
still involved in music to this day, and he's among the best guitarists
that I've heard! He's also very funny and kept everyone laughing
all the time.
