Billie Kaye had been a friend of our family
for many years. She loved to sing Gospel songs and did so
for many years. She even got me started on the piano, giving
me the confidence that I could learn to accompany myself.
I met her in the first church I attended after I was saved. In
that little Pentecostal church we started a ministry to
a Nursing Home where we sang and visited with the residents.
We even knocked on doors in the neighborhood, and sometimes
with success! She was so much fun to be around and had a
great sense of humor. To my regret,we lost touch in the past
few years because after a battle with a serious illness,
Billie has gone home to be with the Lord, and even though
I didn't get to say goodby I'll see her someday in heaven
and get to sing with her again, and I'm sure that now she's
up there tinkling on the ivories and singing duets with
the angels!
I'm not sure,
but I think maybe we were laughing at Darrel or at Stan's
shoes! I've got to stop picking on that man! Billie used
to tease Stan a lot and felt like she was almost a sister
to him. Billie had a quick wit and Stan did too, so they
were a good match to keep you laughing at any given time.
