My husband, Stan, was practically a boy when he went into the Air Force, but he soon became a man and learned about war, because he was sent to Vietnam shortly after we were married. That was a thankless duty at the time, but I want to go on record to say that I thank him with all my heart, along with all the other courageous young men who served our country as they were ordered to do, in the name of democracy and freedom!

We salute you, Vietnam Veterans! I am proud to be your wife, Stan, and you are my hero! And you're still very handsome!

Below, are some photos taken while he was in Vietnam. He looked so sure of himself, and youthfully mischievous. He was a product of the late 50s teen generation and I'd have to say that he resembled the "Fonz" in his lifestyle. He was what we used to call "Cool" But, now that I've been married to him for many years, I can really say that he now is truly "Kooool" in my eyes!

When he went into boot camp, they cut off his "duck tail, which was squared and channeled, and bleached in the front. He can tell you stories about that camp! It's not like it used to be! There are some fun photos below too, like how could such a cute little boy turn out to be this grown up guy we all know and love today??

The War That No One Would Call A War

He's come a long way: From that cute little innocent looking little boy to the cool "levis on the hip" duck tail sporting, Elvis music loving, "rock around the clock" teen, to the young man in the Air Force, to the middle aged man whom I love so much and has been beside me for 38 years and we're still going strong!
